Collaboration

A new project I'm working on, is a poem where my partner and I will alternate stanzas.  We've agreed on a subject, and we've started a rough beginning of it.  I am so excited to see how it turns out.  So far it seems to flow nicely.  Its going to need a lot of editing to ensure our two styles combine nicely.

And is it worth the wait, 

All this killing time? 

Are you strong enough to stand, 

Protecting both your heart and mine? 

Who is the betrayer Who's the killer in the crowd? 

The one who creeps in corridors 

And doesn't make a sound 

My love has concrete feet, my love is an iron ball 

Wrapped around your ankles, over the waterfall

Tasteless Lies

Let me draw you a picture.  
Its simple, 
Its reality in my eyes.
Innocence is rekindled,
And terribly smothered.


How can one moment,
of purity,
project such a hostile image?
Once I tell you my story,
its turned to ash.
Leaving nothing
but remains of 
distorted clarity.


Do you seek answers
to mistaken events?
Are you on edge because of what you know?
Or from what you fear to find out?


Look at the big picture.
Look at the person I am.
The melody I live by.
Can you still look so smug?
Wipe it off your face.


How come when
we say we do, we don't?
How can we say we will...
We won't.
End this phase of
tasteless lies.
